Elephant Work 大象的工作

The elephant stopped at our house,
waving its big gray nose.
一只大象在我家门口停下了，
挥舞着他那灰色的大鼻子。


“Do you have work for an animal with a very useful hose?”
“你这里有工作适合有软管的动物吗？”


“Come in! Come in!” my father cried.
“You answer all my wishes.
You can do the laundry and a heap of dirty dishes.”
“快进来，快进来！”我爸爸大喊着，
“你满足了我所有愿望。
你可以洗衣服和一堆脏盘子。”


“Wash the upstairs windows.
Sweep and mop the floors.
Clean the car and the garage,
and don’t forget the doors.”
“清洗楼上的玻璃。打扫地板和拖地。
清洗车和车库，不要忘了还有那些门。”


“Stop!” bellowed the elephant.
“That’s too much work to do!”
Then with a snort, it turned away and ran back to the zoo.
“停下”大象吼道。“有太多的工作要做了！”
随着一声喷鼻声，它转身跑回了动物园。
